Cheers,

Sorry mate, I have no idea what you are on about or why you asked such a question - perhaps you could explain?

Campervans and A-frames - same rules would apply to transit vans towing with them

I can put your right on chapter and verse ROG.

But as I see it, this is a site for blokes with
axle grease embedded underneath their finger nails,
an affinity for Transits, are handy with a wrench.
who have a healthy can do approach,
and don't give a duck's fart for twatspeak "3500kg mass".

Maybe I got the forum wrong.
Time will tell.

Over and out.

I'm having a real problem trying to follow what you are actually saying mb :D

It might be just me, so apologies if it is but it doesn't seem to make any sense??

I'm not sure what your problem is with what ROG is saying, because he has cut a lot of the twaddle from the towing/tacho regs and has made it clearer for many of us "grease monkeys" to understand :?

If you think that what he is states is wrong, then feel free to enlighten us all

My only intention is to help drivers stay legal - not to TELL them to do this or that but to simply inform in a way that is understood so the driver can make their own choices

Just another quick update for anyone that's interested.

After a few trips the van started to get hot, as soon as the speedo went above 60 the temperature gauge shot up but came back down instantly when you backed off. This first happened on a trip to the Cambridge area so took it very steady for the 3 hours there and 3 hours back! The drivebelt squealed a fair bit so I changed this and the tensioner but to no avail. After searching on here I thought it might be the thermostat or water pump (as the heater was working intermittently) so changed both of those (also cleaned and blanked the EGR at the same time). Running sweet again now (been on the motorway for 2 hours each way and up some BIG hills near Buxton!), you could turn the pump pulley but keep the impeller easily held still by hand, I think there was enough friction left at low revs but not for higher revs.

The van has been ideal for my needs, towing fine, giving us somewhere to get out of the rain and facilities to make a brew!

Cheers,
Dave

What points exactly are you suggesting ROG is wrong on Master bates :?:

If you make that clear then maybe you will realise your error?
