Postby Vandalism » Wed Nov 10, 2010 9:24 pm

this van was on ebay a while back so i saved the pictures, it is a c reg - 1986 mk3 transit which is pretty rare as most are D reg- 1987 onwards but someone has put a smiley front on it, how many 1986 mk3 transits are left? has anyone got one on here or any pictures?

Not many.
Mines '87 E and as a sad transit spotter I have only seen a few D's no C's
The chassis cabs/tippers/ and lutons seem to last longer....

Sadly saw an E reg SWB camper with high roof stripped out on the back of a transporter tonight. Will probably be in the light iron pile at EMR tomorrow. :(

It's a Mk3, look at how well the grille doesn't fit and the fuel filler cap of course.

Yep, looked a bit closer, you can see the mis match between the wing and wheel arch profile in the side view.

I've got a D plate, registered 1/6/87. I've been pinching bits off it for my other MK3, is it worth saving?

definatley, if you cant find a 86 mk3 find the next best thing a 87 mk3 - D reg ones are getting a bit thin on the ground now

Where you from?
As that might have been my one, it was rotten to the core, so has been reshelled.
