Airport Ladder/baggage ramp baced on a transit mk3!!

This is an interesting and rare use for a transit mk3 chassis, it is either a airport lader used to get people on and off planes or a baggage ramp, it now is at the Brooklands Race Circit Museum. I only realised this after i got home and looked at the picture and could tell by the wheels it was baced on a transit mk3. this is a prety rare transit if you can call it a transit as there isnt much transit, does anyone know what company made it - would it have been a ford svo vehicle?

on another note, when i went to france a few years ago i saw a similar vehicle baced on a transit mk2 at Charles De Gaul airport, and again i know it was transit mk2 baced because of the wheels so there are some interesing transit baced vehicles out there - any one got some interesting pics?

its a Vialift Baggage Carrier its on brooklands website,
dvla dont have it as a vialift or a ford based vehicle :?

it would have had a plate if it had to cross main roads but some of the bigger airports have a by law road system airside so all vehicles even plane tugs would be road registered :!:

Its a 'rocket', it WAS used for loading passenger baggage into the underfloor baggage holds on aircraft.
Nowadays all the baggage is loaded into containers 'bins' and driven out to the aircraft.

The funny boxes with the bottom corners cut off ,on the back of the flatbed ! You can just see the modern replacement leading to the aircraft's belly door.
Have fun
