gearbox prob

54 reg fwd t260 41k miles when i use 1st gear say at the lights it will jump out if im careless in its selection usually when cold nothing serious and so long as im careful its OK every time, it Minnor problem really but if its a simple fix i would prefer to do it, and can somebody tell me were the bolts located that falls in the gearbox, i have the repair cd if its on there

Sounds like gear cable issues Try adjusting them first, but if your unsucessful you'll need a new grey cable.
The pinch bolt is located on the gear selector mechinism, which is bolted into the gearbox housing. To get to this you would need to remove the selector mechinism.

does sound like slight adjustment needed,
but i would check this bolt regardless could save you a gearbox!

thank you ,,,good no nonsenses replies and strait to the point that's what i like about this forum is it much of a job to remove the selectors? 5mins or a few hours? thanks Carl

It's about a 2hr job start to finish (removal, repair and Install) but it will take you longer if your doing it for the first time.
