De tune

Postby Hot Rod Ron » Sat Aug 30, 2014 11:47 pm

G Day all again,
As i have said on another post i am buying a VCM 2 Multi-Language Diagnostic Tools VCM II IDS V86 Diag Scan. When it arrives or hell freezes over
What i would like to do is de tune VM's i am buying 12 seater VM buses taking all the seats out to fit wheelchairs. With less weigh 1st gear has to much pulling power, the rev's come up quick and when u change into second gear u get a jurking motion
( no i cant start off in second gear as it is to high and would need to ride clutch not good )
Corect me if im wrong as ive just been into cars with a PCU for a few months.
With the scaner what i would like to do is change the maping in the CPU so the power comes on at half rate just in first gear with same revs, I am gessing that the speed sensor might control that and after say 30 km could go back to full power, Am i on the right track in my thinking?
Or is there a better way to get what i want

This could be done with a remap, but I don't believe there is any facility in ids to do this.

I doubt if Ford could do it either. Really needs a remapper such as Vantuner to sort it out

I'll look more into it ake, and message Vantuner for some tips. We have some good speed shops here so ill see where it takes me.
Old stuff was so much better.
