Transit mk6 2.5di conversion engine mounts???

Hi all I have just bought a 2001 transit with 2.5di conversion in it thing is whoever put the engine in bodged the life out of it
They have chopped the middle of the subframe out and the di mounts are just resting in the cut outs they haven't even attempted to bolt or weld the mounts in
I can pull the engine off the subframe with my hands Is there a good way to mount these or is it just trial and error

That's a lovely mess.

I think you need to get a flat plate welded across the mount so that the rubber can sit on it and be bolted through it.

I should imagine you'll have other issues to deal with as well!

Why did you buy one with the di conversion ?
That must be slow as hell?

Get a mk 6 135 or a mk 7 rwd x member.It will be easier to mod

Ha ha there's method in my madness the good old trusty di engine is bullet proof
My mk5 showed up my mates mk7 made him look stupidly slow
That was because I had a Subaru td05 turbo bolted to it and it did go well lots of black smoke lovely!!!
Will be doing the same to this 1 so should have lots of cheap trouble free motoring when it's finished
I have just made the plates and welded them in as you suggested and it seems to have done the trick
The truck drives great now no nasty rattles
But as others have stated yes it's slow but it won't be for much longer just sourcing the bits to turbo it now

Especially if its a scrape 2.3
A di turbo will do twice as many miles as a pet to the gallon and run rings round it

Them Essex v6's am alright on gas tho can get some good miles if set up properly and have good fun with them on pet
