Transit MK7 key remote playing up

Postby ferik85 » Fri Sep 22, 2017 7:56 pm

Hi guys, I've just bought a used van and I'm experiencing problems with the remote. Sometimes it doesn't works at all, sometimes I had to press few times and sometimes it works without any problems. It's just very random. I have bought a new battery for under the drivers seat but problem has persist. Any ideas where to look next? thanks

I replaced front battery as it was flat. Not sure if it has something to do with it but van sometimes wont start. I can't even hear starter just strange noise coming from under the seat. I'll have a look tonight for any bad connections.

Check the voltage on the back one , the strange noise could be the starter battery cut in relay going
When you turn key to turn all dash lights on before starting there should be an audible click from under seat that turns relay on to connect both batteries

blue estate you helped me to solve it. I have been checking voltage of batteries to send you that information when I opened key fob I found that that battery had one of those soldered bit disconnected. For someone obvious place to look for me last one.

I have focused on that click all day, seems like van knew about it as it had no problems to start. I'll continue to check on it.

Thank you for help!
