On our annual trip to the Southampton Boat Show, the brake pedal suddenly started travelling much further than usual. During a week's stay in a car park, it recovered then the fault returned.
Front brakes seem fine. Consulting the book, rear brakes seem a nightmare. Do you really have to remove the hub?
Mine is a six wheeler and there are scrape marks over the hub implying the drum has been removed over it.
What is the truth? Do the shoes self adjust or is it necessary to back off the adjustment first? So far the drum has failed to shift.
I have yet to understand and examine the load-adjust mechanism.
