Do you have to prime a fuel filter after replacing?

Does anyone know if I have to prime my new fuel filter ? It's on a 2004 tourneo 2.0 TDCI cheers pike

Fill the new fuel filter with clean diesel then turn the key to start the engine, the tdci will prime itself and purge any air out (it should start first time, if not refill filter and try again, if no luck after 3/4 attempts you have other issues). N
