new clutch

Postby colin richard » Sat Mar 24, 2018 8:40 pm

Hi, having recently taken my mk 7 transit to my usual garage, due to clutch problems.
it resulted in me having a new clutch. But the garage did'nt replace the dual mass flywheel as they said it was ok.
I don't know about these things, but i thought you changed everything.

whats your thoughts.

They would probably say that if it was under warranty Lol.
I'm surprised that if it wasn't they never said yes we changed it all :?

But if you believed that the clutch was finished then in my experience so is the dmf, or it is worn enough to be worth changing for peace of mind.

How many miles on the original clutch..??

If substantial...the DMF will probably be toast, if not now it will be quite soon.
