22 year old Mk5 transit help

Postby Frank_pev_evans » Mon Aug 20, 2018 8:37 pm

I’ve got a 22 year old Mk5 transit, long wheel base that needs replacement fuel pump

These are the numbers on the pump:

DSA1096
06894MODENG
8720A010A

Can anybody advise where I can find one
My specialist garage can’t find one, and recommend replace with original mechanical pump

I’d appreciate any insight

The're a few Lucas pumps on ebay going for silly money :(

Best option is as the garage mentioned a Bosch mechanical conversion.

Minormatt is the best person to advise TBH.

well, 1500 bucks once every 22 years is prety good. Considering in a petrol vehicle, there would be, coils, spark plugs, throttle body problems, sensors failing left right and centre and of course constant vaccum leaks haha.
Its the one part whcih fails and its cost is representative of that. Get an online replacement from ebay, and give it to the mechanic to install.
