trouble starting first time

Postby harwood2707 » Fri May 21, 2010 12:33 am

recently had petrol run through the system around 2gallons put in a near empty tank. driven till it stopped. been to garage been cleaned stripped what ever else, did sound an feel a bit groggy for a while but waited to see if it would clean itself abit. also used sometime injector cleaner, power is now fine i think but first start of the day doesnt seem to fire-up. plenty of life sounds usual just no kick, tried jumpleads as a first start of the day may have been slighty better but nowhere near great. Wreg tipper (the 1 made with a shitty flywheel now replaced with a fixed). been told to question the injectors??? really staring to annoy now!!! :x

Is it just the first start of the day?
I know a few transits i have looked at if it takes maybe 2-3 attempts to finally start and then starts and runs fine all day, then the timing chain tensioner will be at fault. I know you have put petrol through, but i have also done a few of these in the past with no problems.
Has it only started doing this since the petrol???

been a while but still problems starting, some days first time then back to normal won't fire again. since the mechanic has been playing around with it yep since the petrol went thru it, but running is now spot on and mileage is back up. it does need jump leads now if it doesn't start first time. will have the tensioner looked at and check back in a couple of days.
