The air flow sensor dint work this time, would the fuel pump be sucking in air. All suggestions greatly appreciated

Hi, I suppose I'm years to late in commenting on your post but I have a Ford transit year 2000 vj 2.4 turbo diesel and it went into limp mode. It was the metering solenoid on the back of the mechanical fuel pump. Hard job but fixed it for $180 Australian. You may have one of the two wires that operate the solenoid or the solenoid itself giving an intermittent fault.

Yours is a MK 6, the others were discussing epic MK 5, different pumps, and different systems
