REMOTE KEY FOB!!!!

Ello all
Can anyone tell why i have to be right up next to my van window before the remote central locking will open it.
I have replaced the battery in the remote but didn't make any difference.
Is there anyway of extending the range on this?????????

No Andy i only have one fob for it mate.
I didn't know you could reprogram them,
hope it is as simple that, could make my life so much easier.
Is there a way of doing it myself??????

Just bought a new fob off ebay and programmed it myself, very easy to do just turn ignition on and off about 8 times till central locking goes into a cycle of locking doors then press unlock on the remote you wont programmed and bobs ya aunty ya fob is programmed

Well that sounds very easy mate.
Can you lock/unlock van from a distance or do you have to be right next to the window like mine?
