mk7 pump sensors

Hi could some one tell me if the sensors on a mk7 transit pump would stop my van fromg starting some one told me that thay wouldent stop my van from going and then iv been told that thay would so could any one let me know please.thank you

The crank sensor would stop it from starting.

if the SCV is gone it will knock

it was nocking a bit and it was doing in it for about two months so do you think its gone all together now and thats why it just cut out and will not start now???
