paint spraying advice

Postby weseeyou » Thu May 23, 2013 4:58 pm

I have a Diamond White 95 LWB campervan which is still in remarkably rust free condition generally.

There are numerous small bits of rust starting all over the van like bottoms of rear doors , arches and around window seals etc .

Last year I replaced NS outer front sill and welded a couple of other holes. This year I need to replace the front wings and arches.

One all the work is done its going to need some paint sprayed up to mid line all round as all these little repairs are starting to look really tatty especially where I've used hammerite .

What are my options ? I cannot really afford to get the van sprayed professionally and although I have a small spray gun and hose I've only sprayed a car once with cellulose and I don't think cellulose is available any more. Water based paints need air drying and are apparently difficult to mix .?

Anyone know a good sprayer within 50 miles of Yeovil ?

cheers CH thanks for the link.

I'm hoping to find someone who can spray it for me to be honest. My last effort with half a dozen rattle cans blew through inside 8 months

I might look at the prices of some small compressors ....I could kid myself we could also use it for wild camping occasionally lol

Im just looking to spray the sills and arches and door bottoms tops . my spraying skills won't stretch further than that lol
I'd use some vinyl wrap if I thought I could match the colour .
I'm not looking for a concours job ,just to tidy it up a bit .
Thanks for your help much appreciated
