Mk7 2.2 57 won't start after top end rebuild

Postby Benitotrump » Tue Apr 15, 2014 9:08 pm

Hi

After my van stopped and it was discovered that the rocker bearings had seized and consequently smashed them off the ladder and broke the ladder casting which then broke the exhaust cam shaft. After all this has been replaced, everything cleaned meticulously as there were little metal fragments, engine turned over by hand numerous times to check timing was ok the rocker cover was fitted but it won't start! There is fuel pressure at the injectors but it won't catch, a quick squirt of easy start makes it run perfectly but it won't start or run under its own steam! I'm at my wits end now. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Ta. Ben.

The cam sensor may have been damaged at the same time.
Also check crank sensor hasn't been disturbed
