Engine light then no power

This has happened a few times since i bought the van a couple of months ago its a 2003 t300 anyway d odd time the engine light flashes and put foot to floor and have no power it like the immobiliser kicks in, i knock her off and start her again and away we go any ideas? Cheers alan

Needs fault codes read otherwise it's just expensive guess work.

Ok ake thanks would the codes b stored or would i need it to happen then plug in right away?

Left it in today to have a few bits done for the test,no fault codes showing,happening more often now though and not sure what to do i got them to change the fuel filter so can rule that out so to speak,whats happening with yours lkjc81?i could be stopped in traffic and go to pull off press accelerator to floor wont rev up check dash engine light flashing switch off and back on and away i go again , or coasting along press pedal same again

What reader were they using If the engine light was flashing, then there must be codes stored

Oops ive been corrected it the glow plug light that flashing the yellow light with coil sorry bout that!

The glow plug light is the engine management light on this model so there will be codes stored not all code readers will read transits so you need to find someone who can read the codes

Thanks at least i know know,ill get looked at again maybe his code reader couldnt detect codes

Is this whats causing the glow plug light to flash then wont rev??

It needs a throttle pedal assembley easy replacement job..yes it would bring glow plug light on

thanks angleeye,i also got an erg valve blanking plate and plan fitting that too,im going to slack off the erg and slip this in and tighing up and leave everything else as is,am i right in thinking if i have a sticking erg valve that this will help or eliminate/rule out the erg value playing a part in my issue, and if the valve is ok it will just improve performance??
