??

Are you having problems that they are on dimly when on dipped? If so just pull the dip dim relay out ;)

Surely, spot lights should only operate when on main beam, and go out when dipped :?

Which reminds me . . . my Irish Dad used to hang a bucket of water on his front bumper. He said it was to dip his headlights.

On the mk5 remove relay X11 (dim dip) 2nd from left in top row of fuse box.

Leave the small blue relay C (dim dip) in top left of fuse box or O/S headlamp loses its earth.
N.B. I think you will have to put an earth to the BROWN/BLUE wire at the right headlamp.

For the spots you need a relay. Take a wire from the high beam light on instrument cluster (blue/white IIRC) to a switch and then to one coil terminal on relay. other coil terminal goes to earth. Take a live feed via a 20A fuse to one contact terminal and wire the spots to the other contact terminal.
Spots will come on with main beam if switch is on and not at all if it is off.

Do a search - you will probably find a diagram for the above.
