stuck seat belt

hi all, i got my new crew cab van today,took out the bulkhead and found that the rear seats fold forward! after playing for a bit i left them folded down while i worked on the ply lining and when i finished i tryed to put the seats back up but they were stuck looks like the seat belt tightened and now wont release to give me enough slack to put the seats up, anyone had any experiance with this? hope somone can help iv got to allow the kids in tomorrow x

You need to get a bit of slack in the belt to release the tension I had this in the wifes car, and ended up having to un-bolt the belt housing (the bit that holds the retracted belt) Relaxing the tension allows the locking pawls to drop back in and the belt will retract normally
