Arent there 2 plugs on the wiring around that area that may have been disconnected when gearbox was removed then mixed up when it was put back together (apparently the 2 plugs are the same so can be fitted to the wrong connections ) I read this fairly recently on the forum but cant remember which transit it related to ie turbo or N/A

It wont be this as van wouldnt run.its the speedo and crank sendor wires you are thinking of
