Do i need a re map?!?!

Postby James Alltrades » Sat Aug 09, 2014 2:06 pm

Hi all, i have put a 2.4 rwd 125psi engine in a crewcab twin wheel truck, which was previously a 90psi.
I have used the ecu that was already with the new engine. But it is running really underpowered, 1st 2nd and 3rd gear aren't to bad, but unless im going down a steep hill it never wants to leave 4th gear.. And going up a steep hill, it struggles even in 2nd and 3rd sometimes...
I've read a bit about axle ratio's and re-maps. This engine was originally in a single axle van, now its in a twin wheel truck, could this be the problem?
Thanks in advance for any help or thoughts. :)

Sounds like its in limp mode.
You need some to plug it in and check the fault codes

Did the donor have the electric fuel pump on the top of the fuel filter?
Have you transferred it to the new van?

Turned out it was a dusty clogged up sensor on the intercooler hose!! Runs like a beaut now!
