Blue Side marker lights on my luton

I have purchased a set of blue marker lights to install on my extra long wheel base 94 reg luton just wondering if anyone knows if they are legal or not hopefully they are as would look cool with the blue writing lol.

Of course they're not legal.

ah right i just found a newspaper cutting that states that there is no law of any kind with regards to the color of lights on the side of the a commercial vehicle as long as they do not breach regulation 16 (in that they are a flashing blue or red light)

Of course you should always believe what you read in the papers - goes without saying.

Not allowed, I checked, flashing or not. It's down to the traffic officer to stop you, and I doubt they would, but blue isn't a good colour when it comes to annoying the police.

Road Vehicle Lighting Regulations 1989 states that no lights shall be fitted to the side of a vehicle that are capable of showing light to the front or rear of the vehicle.... besides amber side lights.
