fuel filters

Hi I've just replaced my fuel filter housing its my transit had a flat top with yellow float/pump. The one I've replaced it with has a primer pump on top and a yellow float/pump. will it be the same fuel filter as already have a new one for the flat top will it just go on the primer pump topped housing? also the new one came with two cables that bolted to the back it turns out to be some sensor is it ok with them removed? 3 types of filter housing that I'm familiar with, ring lock type, twist lock type and lift pump type.
You need the filter that is compatible with the type you have, and if your van is 05 2.4 tdci you need a tdci filter probably, more important on a mk7 i hear but still you should get the correct 1 for the housing and engine.
They are available at Ford if need be but there are many to choose from.

the filter housing your fitting is the ring lock one of the early 2.0 tddi and 2.4 one same as mine

I've got the bottom 1 on my mk7 lol, you can get a tddi or tdci filter for it so no worries there as for the wire, it is for the water in fuel sensor just ignore it if it isn't needed
