Bargain Clutch kit but still slave cylinder problems

Postby madmart132 » Thu Sep 11, 2014 6:56 pm

Hi there I've been having Clutch problems for a little while on my MK6 2.3 petrol, I managed to get a complete Clutch and Dual mass Flywheel from Birchwood Ford in Eastbourne for £190 !!!
Just had them fitted and I am still getting a faint crunch from the gearbox when I change gear , I am guessing that the clutch slave cylinder needs bleeding/replacing, can I bleed the slave cylinder while gearbox is in van ?
If not is it easier to change the slave cylinder complete ?

to be honest you should of done the lot while it was all out

as for the crunching their may not be enough oil or the wrong oil in the box or the synchronize in the box are knackered :(

is the slave leaking :?: try bleeding with a vacuum or pressurized bleeding system :!:

Hi Karl I wanted to check it while the box was off , but they did not tell me the Clutch had arrived like they said they would and had already put the box back on by the time I had returned !!!
I think it will be best to bleed it first is the slave cylinder inside the gearbox ?

I think your box needs looking at, try pumping the clutch pedal a few times to build up pressure then put it in gear, if it goes in fine then it could be the slave.
Bleeding it again won't harm it tho.
