Fuel Pump BROKEN!! IS it worth replacing?

Postby Ladyfaceuk » Wed Sep 24, 2014 4:20 pm

Apologies if this has been a topic before but I couldn't search an appropriate answer. I have a 2001 SWB transit and discovered one of the fuel feed pipes was squahsed which led to the fuel pump's demise. It is my workhorse and only form of transport.
I have been quoted £300 for a second hand part + labour... is it worth replacing?

A lot depends on the vans condition as well as running gear condition..

Hi Jay

Well for its year it is very tidy and has recently had all the underneath welded, 3 yr old clutch, renewed handbrake cable... so all working very well apart from this going wrong! I just wondered if second hand fuel pumps are worth fitting as this is a good workhorse for my living!

A second hand pump is a gamble, but cheaper than a recon
