mk6 transit not starting. something stupid.

Postby fitz the viking » Thu Sep 25, 2014 2:03 pm

Hello
I have a 2002 mk6 transit swb 100ps 2l i recently replaced the starter motor as it was on its last legs.

put the new starter on and now it turns over but doesnt catch. I put the old starter back on thinking it could be a faulty part and it did the same.

A mate says i need to push the fuel cut off / inertia switch but i cannot find it anywhere. The fuses are all intact.

Anyone have any ideas? its something small and stupid i bet.

Cheers very much.

Believe it or not I had an o2 Transit in last week with one.It was under the dash just above the strut on the right hand side the reset button is on the top.
On the sixth day God created a Sprinter on the seventh he gave it away and bought a TRANSIT

petrol ones are there..and i think tdco has 1 but tddi I havent seen 1 yet...

Code reader unless he has IDS wont be helpful on a mk6 as they are NOT obd complient and his scanner may just give a generic code or wont read the van at all..

The 120/125 RWD TDDi has a switch, because it has electric lift pump

Ake the one with the switch had a pump on the filter head but I drive a 125 twin wheel jumbo that never had an electric pump no wires or plugs any where.I was always of the opinion that the 125 needed one .Must remember to check for switch
