HI guys just an update.

I have installed v.86.04

i still have the same issues.

i have noticed that error:

9-0x0 851082 is produced when i follow onscreen instructions to turn ignition on/off during programming

4-0x0 851083 is produced when i keep ignition on despite prompts to turn off

i am wondering if these errors are related to clocks and ABS interference are there any fuses i could pull to eliminate these systems?

Do I need to unzip the calibration files in programme files?

I don't think so they are in that type of file, well I've never touched them lol.

Hi sand010, I've pretty much mirrored the problems you are having in using IDS to try and change the PCM settings on my 03 rwd with an altered diff ratio.

Getting exactly the same error messages as you using a chinese clone of IDS using v86

One suggestion I found while trawling the internet was that it could be due to a poor connection on/to the PCM itself. I've not yet tried to go through the Haynes suggested route of drilling out the rivets securing/protecting the PCM to see if there's any obvious issue with the connectors.

Knowing my luck I'd probably end up drilling through the PCM as well as the rivets.

Mike,

Thanks for the suggestion. Its definately worth a go. Its strange how it did the same on another friends transit of mine. When you went for a van tune. Did their ids work?

hi, I had the van tuned by Martin (see my sig) a couple of years ago now, but that might not have affected, or involved, the PCM module.

The diff change was done recently.

To be honest I think I'll just give up and use an old phone with GPS to act as my speedo when I'm on areas with cameras

If you can get your ids on a mk7 and do everything with it then I'd be leaning towards the mk6 com error being a hardware fault.
Also consider the axle change as something not available, it seems to be quite common:-(
Personally if you are in doubt take it to Ford and ask them to do it, if they can then your ids/software is crap or they also can't do it and shouldn't charge you (in theory lol) (probably will tho:-() but at least you won't lose any more sleep on it.
Also if it is locked to the pcm/central control module then maybe try and get hold of 1 from the similar van but with the axle you require, or maybe see if it is possible to reprogram your module with the correct software, bearing in mind I'm not familiar with the mk6 modules setup, would think it can't be that different in terms of installation/programing?
Failing all that maybe 13"wheels?
