solar trickle charger

Postby fealar » Sun Oct 19, 2014 3:00 pm

hi everyone, just a quick question. my mums going away for a good bit and her cars gona be parked up for a good 4 months.
she here asking me questions that im unsure about. need a wee help please.

we're gona hook up a cheapo halford solar charger to the battery. now I know the clock etc other bits use up a wee bit of power.. so I was thinking about removal ng the earth car connection. would that break the circuit and then just connect red and black solar cables on? job done?

If it were me, I would remove the battery, keep it at home, and periodically give it a 12hr charge, or connect it to a smart charger

Ah ok, you said it would be parked up, and I assumed no one would be starting it

Solar trickle charger should be the answer then, if you can't get a mains one to it. :D

Just starting it is a waste of time, it should be driven.
Don't bother disconnecting battery, just connect solar charger.
