Wiper Fault....

Postby grouchfungus » Mon Oct 20, 2014 7:45 pm

Hello.

Can anyone help with advice about my MK7 which has a problem with the wipers....

Slow constant wipe - wipers get stuck for variable time amounts, stop in any position. Is the same for intermittent.

No rain sensor, have changed relays and no difference....

Any ideas?

Sounds like a faulty motor

Probably the wiper motors:-(
First check,
F58 at front glove fusebox.
Relay R25.
High/low relay R23.
Wiper motor pin 2 is int, pin 3 is gnd, pin 4 is low speed, pin 5 his high speed.
Sounds like worn motor bushes or loose connection to me, although you could lift the wipers away from the window and see if they work OK, also check the linkage for any signs of damage etc :-)

Thanks for the replies. Thought it could be the motor. If you shake the wipers even when off they start going again...
