I changed mine two weeks ago and as the bracket holding th battery in was driving me nuts I ended up just taking the seat off. Far easier and a good chance to clean underneath

This summer I changed my battery on 2008 2.2 swb.Got a battery from that euro spares looks identical to the Ford battery cost about £80,I moved the seat forward,Unbolted the metal bracket,Then I got a small battery took a red and black lead from little battery outside on the ground, Then I wrapped the wires around the transit battery terminals then lifted out the old battery refitted the connections back on new battery,Removed the 2 wires which held the radio memory,Fitted the metal bracket back. The only problem that I had was that bloody plastic cover..SO I just cut it in half and mad a connection to join the 2 plastic half's together again ...Now I always have an easy access.PS buy a good battery,Always buy the best u can afford.
Ford Transit 280 SWB,,Year 2008,,2.2,, If it can,t be fixed/repaired/ with a 4 pound lump hammer then it must be an electrical problem.
