diff thread type

Postby k11gmh » Fri Nov 28, 2014 10:54 am

Hello I have a 2004 135 tdci lwb 3.5 ton high top van having had three wheel studs shear at the rear have now removed !! the brake drum after removing the 65mm retaining nut holding the bearings but the end of the thread is damaged bought a new nut but afraid it might cross thread. Can any one tell me what type of thread I am working with as I can get hold of dies but need to know the thread type thanks very much. Graham

measure the o.d. of thread there will only be a couple of different pitches .you will soon see which one it is..biggest problem you have is getting the torque right, did you read your other thread, please heed my advice on it,you could always try a thread file, the die will also need to sit square you dont want it cutting a new thread,if you can get dies they would normaly have a way of measureing threads, take the nut with you,
