mk7 2.2 tdci fwd cutting out

Postby jimmy 16v » Mon Dec 08, 2014 9:00 pm

HI all
I have a 56 reg mk7 2.2 fwd 130 transit,i have owned it for about 6 months and has been fine(i don't drive it one of the lads who works for me does)i service and mot done 6 weeks ago and asked garage to take a look at a drop in power sometimes, and he scanned it and came up with fuel in water and egr codes.
He put a new ford erg on and it was ok for a few weeks but not it will cut out sometimes when pulling up to a junction or the tick over will be quite low,he has now mentioned to me that it has cut out a couple ofttimes when driving.
Also when starting it will start and then cut out straight away, this may go on for 3 or 4 times before it keeps running.

Took it back to garage today and scanned it again and only code is water in diesel, was scanned on a snapon solaris i think.

hope this makes some sense

cheers,jimmy

Hi karl
Thanks for the quick response,i could not see a sensor on the fuel filter so thought that this was the case or some had removed it at somepoint.is the prv on the left of the fuel rail when looking at the engine from the front and does it need setting up with ids if it gets replaced.

many thanks,jimmy
