Postby bazw » Tue Feb 24, 2015 3:27 pm

Hi all, I am starting up a Business transporting cars on a trailer towed by my van (350L mk 7 )

will I need a CPC for this or does the tranny 350L come under BE on the licence?

Are you referring to the driver cpc or the O licence operator cpc :?:

If driver cpc then NO because the VEHICLE (ignore trailer) is not more than 3500 kg GVW

The licence needed will be B+E assuming the trailer is over 750 kg plated MAM but you have that :D

It will also come under full EU tacho regs as the total plated MAM/GVW will be over 3500kg

O licence = not my greatest field of knowledge but I suspect it will need one = https://www.gov.uk/being-a-goods-vehicl ... r/overview

What is the GVW GTW and towing capacity for your vehicle :?:

If you're being paid you'll need a O licence and a tacho this is aimed at horsebox's but there'll be some useful info in this link

2500 towing capacity is likely

That means you will not have any weight probs towing one car on a car transporter trailer

Bazw, I have a couple of mates who run there own trucks but work from other haulage company yards who let them use their yard as a base to park up etc .
Have you any friendly haulage companies near you that would let you do that ? they may even give you some work moving odd pallet or two where it is not cost effective to send a large truck,................just a thought :)
