MK 5 STEERING FLUID LEAK

Hi

got a R reg transit used daily, and itsstarted useing ps fluid, i think its leaking from the gaitor on the steering rack, am i right in asuming the only way to sort it is another rack,( they dont sell any sealing kits ? )

wheres best place to get a steering rack from ( im in sheffield ) anything i should be aware of before i strip my old one out ?
Stuck for someone to weld youre transit .....

I had the same issue about 18 months ago.

Chucked a bottle of Lucas stop leak for power stearing racks in to keep me going while I sourced a replacement.Think it was about £14.

Still using original rack and sold the replacement which I didn't use to a mate after a year of leak free running using the Lucas stuff.

It claims to help weeping seals not split/cracked pipes (in my case it was spot on)

Might just be a loose seal in end of rack?
2.9i 24v cosworth v6 LSD now fitted and quad pipes out back
