HELP hi I have a 3.5 ton mk6 swb trany and it has snapped the chain is it that it will have killed the engine or can I put a chain kit on it and will run ,,????

Camshaft sensor and crankshaft sensor will be of alignment and that would shut the engine down when chain jumps .
You will have to replace timing chain , chain tensioner , chain guides . But before replacing the chain you should remove rocker shafts ,camshafts and check the camcarier housing for damage on the inlet camcarier side . If any of the 5 bolts holding down the rocker shaft are only lightly tight than more likely camcarier has been damaged by the pistons hiting the valves .

Chances are it will have significant damage to the head and valves.
