I need to find the engine number on my 1988 Transit campervan. My garage can't find it and I need it so I can sell it. It's a non-turbo 2.4 litre diesel. Can anyone help?

88 should be a 2.5.
Engine no on the 2.5di is stamped in to a flat land just above the sump, at the front of the engine on the exhaust side. Its behind where a power steering pump fits.
If its the original engine, then the number will be the last 7 digits of the vin number.
