rattle from gearbox

Hello,
was just wondering could anybody on here help me? I have a 02 model transit tipper and have started to get a loud rattle from it when I am slowing down in gear.
It goes away when i press in the clutch and happens in every gear except 4th....it sounds bad...any ideas??? thanks in advance.

replace clutch as it's the bearing in that

Every gear but fourth = gearbox Best to replace it with a good second hand box and new clutch.

yea was thinking that it couldnt be just clutch as it not happening in 4th, was thinking must be something to do with intermediate shaft as from a bit of research 4th is only gear that doesn't use it?

also clutch was done about 10k ago, should i still replace it?

Yeah front bearing on the shaft is going and better repair sooner than later cause when it goes you end up with fourth only.Clutch should be ok then

thanks for the help...better get on it this week so...dont fancy trying to take off in 4th
