Body Control Module

Postby 1robbie » Tue Aug 11, 2015 4:59 pm

Does anyone have a source for a MK7 transit "C" or "D" BCM. I want to install cruise control but my transit has the "B" bcm. I already have the steering wheel. I got that quickly on breakerlink but have had nothing but problems trying to get the BCM. The first breaker, Sal-Ford and Vauxhall Spares Ltd that replied on parts gateway took my money and simply did not bother sending anything. When on the phone with them they did not even seem to know what a BCM was as they asked me to email a picture of one. This was after they stated they had my part in stock. Luckily I paid with Paypal and I am going through the channels to get my money back. Be warned never deal with this outfit as they are nothing but thieves.
The second one I spoke with I made it so clear I needed the C or D bcm. Their reply was "oh yes that's what we have .I am looking at it right now." Yeah, guess what, they send a "B" model. What is it with these breakers?
I am now waiting for a refund on that part as well.
Can anyone help with reputable parts suppliers?
Thanks
1robbie

What sort of money are you looking at? There's usually some on eBay :-)

Does the bcm have to be from a 2.2 if you've got a 2.2? Or can you fit a 2.4 bcm?

Doesn't matter.

You install it, initialize it then send asbuilt to it and it works for your van.

If you do a new module installation with ids it should copy the info from your bcm and paste it to the new 1.

I just take the old 1 out, fit the new 1, initialize it with pats access then send as built to it tho so i can't remember if a new module installation does what i said, plus sometimes you can have a bad bcm for whatever reason so copying it to the new 1 might have a problem.

There's always multiple ways of doing things. :o

Is it a high spec 1 with c/ in the numbers? 25 is cheap :-)

Oh yes. Ck at the end. Getting there, with getting all the bits together. Biggest problem I'm having now is that auto glass won't put a heated screen in instead of the standard screen. Even tho they have done it twice before on my old van!

HELP!
I'm upgrading my y2000 my 6 2.4TDDi RWD to Mk 7 using a 2.2TDCi 2013 donor vehicle. I am adding air con. The donor Body control module is B type. I have been offered an earlier C type off a Euro 4 2.4 TDCi vehicle. Will this fit and be codeable to the 2.2 ecu?
Thanks
Graham

As long as the bcm looks identical except the b and c numbers then yes it'll fit and program.

My motorhome rebuild with 2013 2.2 is nearing completion. But where does the ac compress go?
I thought that it lived on lower nearride of the block being driven off a short second belt from the crank pulley. The ac pump I bet oes to seem to match the casting lugs on the block there. Any ideas?
Ideally photos of Mk7 RWD OEM air con installation would show me.

This may, or may not be of any help, but on the FWD, the compressor is mounted on the rear of the block, which is the opposite side to the Mk6. On the RWD, this would be the drivers side front of the block :)

Ok yes, thanks, I had a look at a fwd but found it hard to relate to the rwd. I think the auxiliaries must be mounted differently. I'll have another look that van is quite local. RWD air con seems as common as hens teeth!

I think on Mk7' RWD if you took off the front panel & rads off etc & were looking at the engine from the front facing the timing cover so to speak, the AC compressor is at 5 O'Clock ?

I have a RWD pump here with slight damage that still works if you want one to play with ?

Thanks Martyn, however I have a compressor mounted OK now. Still struggling with wiring loom and to a lesser extent with pipe work. The internal stuff came from a fwd so I don't have the forward pipes yet although I have now seen a vehicle with them on.
Might ring you in a week or so re coming over to initialise the new bcm and do some other electronic stuff. Possibly around 18th August.
