Fob programming

Postby Wadey » Sat Oct 03, 2015 8:45 pm

Iv got a 03 plate focus Im sure it's th same as a connect so Im hoping someone can shead some light on this i have a 3 button key and want to program the remote part of the central locking
According to ids and Google I should turn the ignition to position 2 and back to 1 ending on 1, 4 times the car will beep to signal it's in programming mode then I push the button it beeps to accept the fob ignition off job done
My problem is that no matter what I do I can't get the stupid car to beep or make any sort of noise to be honest to get it into programming mode

Am I doing it completely wrong or just missing something out ??
Any ideas anyone as its doing my head in !

I ment to add the key chip is programed the car starts stops etc and the Central locking works manually in the door
just follow the onscreen instructions and it's fairly idiot proof...trouble is, we keep producing better idiots

My CL has RCL :?

Are you sure that you've cycled the ignition On/Off enough times? I thought it was eight :?

Have a look on module, its in OS kick panel I think.
CL central locking
DL double locking
RC remote control
AL alarm

The above initials will be on label.(or etis may say in minor features)
Sometimes when they won't go into teach, unplugging and re-plugging module will reset it.

Might be hazards, might be a beep, might just be the PATS light going solid.

Cougar took 8 cycles properly rapidly to work - PATS light,
Missus' Puma took 4 and flashed hazards,
Van took 8 and cycled locks on the doors...

I always go from 0-II, back to 0 etc. Don't know about just ign1-2.

If you have your radio code, try disconnecting the battery overnight
