RWD MT75 driveshaft flanges

Postby Vallol » Wed Nov 18, 2015 9:19 pm

Hello,

I actually don't need this info for a Transit but for my project Capri. I am converting from type 9 to mt75 and want to get rid of the rubber doughnut. I know that Transits have MT75-s with the solid flange and I know there is two types of them. From there it all gets a bit fuzzy for me, so here's the questions:
As I understand there is a 6 bolt flange and a 4 bolt one. 4 bolt seem to be coupled to a regular u-joint flange on drive shaft. Is the 6-bolt one coupled to CV joint?
Does anyone have the dimensions of the bolt pattern available for those flanges?
Can I replace the rubber doughnut flange with either of the Transit flanges, I mean are the splines, the outer diameter, the length all the same for all 3?
Maybe not for this forum, but which one would take more torque, U-joint drive shaft or CV joint one?
Hope me digging for info here is ok, although not for a Transit.

Best Regards,

Vallo
