gearbox problem

Postby Borislav » Thu Nov 26, 2015 9:36 am

Hi my name is Borislav I have Ford Transit 2003 2.4 turbo diesel 5 speed gearbox mt75 /van
For last 6 months I been having a problem getting first and second gear
This problem only happens when the car has been driven at highway speed 100klm for a while and everything is hot
If you drive it in town only the gears sim to work ok
Is there any one out there that may be able to help me solve this problem
I have changed gear oil to penrite 70w/75 as I was told by local ford dealer but it did not help
After a long drive if you stop for 10 /15 minutes and get going again the gears will work fine
it seams when the engine and gear box get to high temp that's when the problem starts

Could be your gear oil.

My old van was hard into first after a long drive gear oil change fixed it.
