Outstanding Oil Pump Recalls

Postby Jvic28 » Thu Jan 21, 2016 11:53 pm

Hi Folks,

Putting it out there. Anyone with a van within these build dates may have an urgent outstanding recall which you'll all be aware of after joining this forum.

01/10/2011 - 04/10/2013

If you're unsure and would like me to check get in touch.

If you're in Cardiff or the surrounding area with an outstanding recall let me know and I'll get it sorted.

Really friendly family run dealership (with Ford whispering in their ears to get this sorted ASAP - HA HA)

:-)

hi, just joined the forum and read about this oil pump problem and panicked. just bought a transit based motorhome 2012 build with no bills or info ref this recall. went on the fordetis site inputted reg and said "no campaign messages found" rang trustford transit in warrington and service manager looked up details for my van and said that the pump had been replaced in oct 2015 by garage "pertwee and back" in great yarmouth. contacted them and they said yes the work had been done, young lady emailed me the info

"carried out recall 4s616 - transit oil pump. replaced oil pump, feed, filter and oil"
"carried out recall 15p04 - transit piston cracking. updated PCM as required"

alls good then but, and now showing my ignorance, is the oil pump inside the sump because the sump is leaking oil at the front and if it has to be removed and replaced would they have to repair it? cheers, derek

I believe the sump and timing cover have to come off to replace the oil pump which is inside the sump.

That being the case then they have either not fitted the sump correctly or something has gone.

Take it back to them and they should fix it free :-)

Corroded sumps are very very common on euro 5 transit, so have a good look at it first

Because they are made of thin plate, with thin paint on top of bugger all surface prep, and right in the firing line of all the road shite.

Transits are not a quality build, build 'em cheap, stack 'em high .....

Hi,

My '12' plate (Jan 13) Transit Tourneo 2.2d blew up on Tuesday. My garage has told me the oil pump is in bits. They'll fit a replacement but no guarantee the engine is not screwed. Just read this forum. Help!
My vehicle is a Euro 5 2.2 engine but I bought it second hand last year. I'm now losing a lot of business as I run tours with it. What do I do now?

Thanks in anticipation...

Mine was done last week - 63 plate that thankfully went in for an EML diagnostic check and the dealer told me about it. Big job apparently, took them over a day.
