I have an update from the repairer: When I said it wouldn't start, I was wrong. In fact, it does start, but (as I understand) because the ECU still thinks it's in neutral, it won't allow it to rev. It never was the fastest vehicle on the road, but 10mph is a bit limited :wink:

I presume this is something the ASM reports (when fitted) to the ECU via the wiring loom, so therefore there ought to be a way of grounding/tying the appropriate wire to fool the ECU?

May be more involved than just that, it may need more info in order to change gear etc.

Get the pcm sorted mate, only half hour job to the right person :-)

As above,this really is the only way...and the easiest.
(Pm'd you the calibration level I used last time)

In the list of minor features;

With Automatic Shift - Manual.

So,left the factory as ASM / Durashift.

Ah - interesting. I'd taken that to mean that the answer to the question "Automatic Shift?" was "Manual". I.e. NOT Automatic/ASM. Particularly as "Transmission: 5-Speed Manual Transmission - MT75" is mentioned earlier in the listing. I stand corrected.

I believe they flashed the ecu using the calibration code pm'd to me by bambi mk 1. I'll need to confirm they set all the other parameters like wheel size, axle ratio, etc - though I passed all that info to them so I presume they did. Bottom line is, it now runs!
