Mk6 pedal delay- what could cause it?

Postby Jason_app » Fri Apr 29, 2016 3:40 pm

I've got mk6 2.4 rwd.

Brand new pedal but it has a delay.

If you blip the throttle from idle quickly and take foot off it doesn't Rev.
You have to keep you foot down for second before it picks up.
If you push the throttle lightly you can see there's counter needle jump from zero as it picks up.

It bogs down pulling off so you have to put your foot down more then usual to get revs but then it revs to much once picks up.
Same if your in say 2nd gear crawling let off throttle and when you press it again no revs so it kangaroos. You have to drop clutch lets revs pick up again then let clutch out again.

Very frustrating in cities lol.

Does anyone know What could cause this?

What detects the Rpms? Is it just the crank sensor?

I fitted a brand new one this month.

Cheers

It's the same thing causing my hot start issue also. Revs don't pick up quick enough when hot so won't start first time.

Doesn't have delay when cold.
Thought that may help diagnose.

Forgot to mention it's not the pedal as when you start it hot without touching the throttle pedal the revs still take a second to pick up even the Rev counter does move for second after its running.
