With mine it was written off but I told the engineer I want keep the van, the van is yours they can't take it off you, they just adjust the amount of money you get back, the engineer also told me I didn't need to do VIC with it being a commercial /lgv as they don't require it, I repaired it, used it for a bit then sold it as a
repaired cat C insurance loss
never had a problem

Well finally i had a settlement for my van.
Bit weird how they try to fob you off and try to avoid questions. So i accepted £2500 less £500 for the retention, less £150 access. £1850. Final figure. Cat C.Just gone through an MOT so it will be good for another.
Now to decide what to do.

Result brother, nice one although £500 charge to keep a van that is yours,....... I only had excess £150 off of settlement figure then got that later on
