Advice needed please

I currently have a 04 plate transit tipper 125bhp. On the dual carriage way when at about 60mph, it seems to be reving it's nuts off, as if it needs a 6th gear. I'm currently bidding on a 2010 tipper 140bhp but only just found out it has 5 gears, I presumed it would be 6 gears because of its age. Am I going to have the same problem ? Thanks in advance.

The revs are due to the axle ratio not the gearbox.

Do you know the reg of the new 1? If so let us know and we can find out the specs for you (gears, axle ratio etc)

Wot Loot said.....however, being a tipper it'll probably be a 5.11 axle....not much good for motorway running, good for climbing trees though..!

It's a regular tipper 100ps, i thought it strange that you said 140ps and 5 speed, didn't sit right with me Lol maybe they exist but a 140 5 speed with 5.11 axle would make me cry Lol.
