Replacing Ignition switch

Postby Bulletguy » Sat Jun 25, 2016 9:40 pm

Need to replace ignition switch (Mk5). Does the barrel have to be removed or does the switch simply pull out?

Cheers

Switch is held on with two grub screws, no need to touch the barrel

Only just got round to tackling this job!

Are the screws allen key head/pozidrive or what? Can't even "feel" the damn things never mind not being able to see 'em!

Very small flat blade, they are recessed into housing but don't need to be removed completely,
Just slackened enough to release the switch.
If you put your head down into footwell and look up you will see them..

Thanks for that Frag. So a contortionist job for a young nimble fingered type rather than an arthritic old fart like me!! :(

Not that hard with right sized screwdriver,as screws are recessed you don't have to see them to do it,just put screwdriver in hole and turn and it will drop into the slot and turn them ..
