Engine run signal (Transit 2015)

Postby rasu » Sun Aug 28, 2016 12:29 am

Hi,
my new Transit doesn´t have standard D+, therefore need to locate "engine run" signal.
Do you know the best point ?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks loot ...

Of cause, I have a BEMM and use it, but English is not my native language, therefore I tried to save my time reading full electric chapter and asked for location of available signals.

The problem is theoretically solved, I have found the connector - interface with both "Engine run signal - grounded" and "ignition" - 12 V +.
I´m not sure about using engine run (grounded) signal for my device, so probably will use ignition instead, but final dececion will make when the mating connector will have in my hands and physically check both signals.

Either of the signals, should be used to operate a relay, and the required loads taken from the relay

Thanks ake for confirmation ...

I add the hird large battery to the system and Votronic charging converter between (Ford auxiliary and my board battery).
Converter includes relay inside and needs KL15 or engine run signal to operate.

use the ground signal to switch a relay that will apply 12v to your device

I decided to use the KL15 (ignition on) signal yet, because it was easier now, but have made all steps to be able change for "engine run" in the future.

Inverter´s internal relay works very fine and connects the third battery for charging after 0,5 sec. after engine start.

This is OK for my installation.
