ford transit 2.5 t/d

Postby lupo » Mon Sep 19, 2016 11:03 am

Hi all, I fitted a reco injection pump on a 2.5 transit. I connected a lucas laser 2000 scan tool to set the pump timing when the temp reached 70deg + the pump timing read -1.12 deg and no fault codes. however turning the shaft left or right made no difference exept log a bolt up limit code but did not move of -1.12 deg. i removed the pump and fitted it to another transit and
ajusted the timing to 0.00 deg. Re - fitted to first transit again and the timing deg went straight back to -1.12 deg. has anybody experienced this problem ?? any help will appreciated. I tried another engine speed sensor on the gear box, and another
pump speed sensor. thanks in advance.

Thanks Minormartt. you can move the pump shaft a few degrees and can clear the timing code, however as i said the degrees are locked on -1.12 . Fore my own reference, Have you come across this problem in the past ? would it be in the wiring or in the ecu ?. As I said, I removed the pump and fitted it to another transit and it worked perfect. thanks again.

No I haven't... but I haven't felt the need to look.

Adjust until its not in limp and don't sweat the small stuff
